 Reasons why children don't take interest in studies?

Child study which is also known as paidology or experimental pedagogy,in which many attempts to apply the modern methods of science  are done on children. In this way we can discover the childs mental development method. In the present time parents are worried about their childs study and asks the same question that why my child don’t take interest in studies?

A research was done on the children below the age of 13 and it was analyzed that the children below the age of 13 spend their most of the time while playing game and found more attraction towards the game rather than in studies.

Few are the reasons that why a child don’t take interest in studies.

Recent studies have shown that spending more time on video game and increased screen time interferes with sleep, mood, cognition and social learning in children and adolescents. When children or even adults play games then our mind release dopamine hormones which excites the neurons and a person who is playing games feels very happy. Then brain make a connection between video game and happiness and release the dopamine only during playing games and it is a big reason that children don’t take interest in studies.

Dopamine fasting: Minimize the time of playing games on computer screen and it will be called as dopamine fasting and after this practice our brain accepts it because our brain has no brain. Develop a balance of video game use and activities that require in-children social interactions, such as physical family activities, sports, music education and volunteering in the community.

Shy and Introvert students also face difficulty in studying. So, parents should help these students by asking them their problems and their interest and motivate these students that they should ask what they don't know about. Children don't understand the importance of study so parents should tackle this situation and try to always motivate their kids.

More practical work and less theoretical work for kids: Children learns more fast while doing practical work instead of theoretical work. So this is the responsibility of the teachers and parents that make work more interesting for them and relate to their life. For example in mathematics we can relate the counting to life that how we count the apples or bananas and use the mathematics. Teachers use their creativity to make study attractive for students.

More workload: Sometimes more workload on the children also a reason that why children don’t show interest in study. Parents should not put too mental stress on their children that he/she has to get A grade. Set goals for children according to their mental abilities. Cognition powers of every student are not equal. Set just a one step higher goal according to your Childs abilities.

Criticism: Students with low grades are criticized and judge as dull, lazy and dumb and this activity demotivate the children and they loss their confidence. Sometimes parents don't know that their child is suffering from dyslexia. Student with dyslexia may have slow ability to learn something new. 

Distracted environment: Conflicts between parents effects more their children. Parents should deal with their family conflicts in peaceful way, not to shout at one another in front of children. Provide a suitable environment to your children which is free of distraction.

So in short parents are playing a great role in the cognitive and mental development of their children because parents and specially mother is a first teacher. Parents should be a role model in front of their children so children can follow their parents footsteps. After that a great teacher makes a great student. Every teacher has a responsibility to understand their student’s metal abilities.
